The next Data Science in Practice meeting was held on 01.03.2017 at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. This time it was conducted by Maciej Bryński, practitioner of Big Data solutions and our associate https://www.linkedin.com/in/brynski/

The lecture was the inauguration of a series of hands-on workshops, which will introduce such tools as: Hadoop and Spark and develop your knowledge of Machine Learning and Python.

Plan of the lecture opening the entire cycle of meetings:
1. Introduction to Big Data.
2. How I got to love MapReduce.
3. Introduction to Hadoop and Apache Spark. 
4. Business Case.
5. Invitation to practical classes.

After completing a series of workshops, students will receive certificates, and the best ones will get prizes!

Dates of subsequent meetings:

1) Introduction to Hadoop – 22 March
2) Introduction to Spark – 29 March
3) Spark SQL – 5 April
4) MLLib – 12 April

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Wojciech Kurowski from the SGH Institute of Value Management.
